It’s been a little over a month now since I made the big move from Amarillo, Texas to New York, New York. My cozy apartment in the city is finally starting to feel more like home, and that makes me so incredibly happy. I love having my own little slice of New York. It’s absolutely the most incredible feeling, and I can’t believe that I’m at this place in life right now. I’ve dreamed of this city for as long as I can remember, and finally living here is still so surreal to me. I’m slowly getting used to being a new ‘New Yorker’, but it will definitely take time to fully realize that this is now home.
I’m currently living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with my brother, and we completely love it. The Upper East Side is between Central Park and the East River. Being a 15 minute walk from the park, and a 5 minute walk to the river is absolutely ideal. I love how quiet and quaint this part of the city is as well, and I’m so happy that we chose it as our location in New York. Our building is older so I was absolutely thrilled that it has classic wood floors and pretty finishes. It truly gives it more of that ‘New York’ feel that I was looking for. With this being our first place as we continue to get settled in the city, I wanted to keep the decor fairly simple with a few pops of color here and there. I really wanted the apartment to feel like a cozy escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. (Fresh flowers and my favorite Anthropologie scent are always a must here!)
I hope you enjoy these few snaps of our little Upper East side apartment! xo
