Most of my friend’s have pegged me as the ‘flower girl’, and this is definitely accurate. (To think I told an ex boyfriend one time that I hated flowers!!) I’m constantly filling my apartment with them, and stopping to take pictures of them as I pass cute bodegas on the street.
I’m sure most girls can share in this common love for flowers, but I feel as though it stems much, much deeper for me. Since I was little, my dad would always plant flowers in our garden and I would help him. He constantly had rose bushes for me (red, pink, and yellow because he knew yellow roses are my favorite.) Still, to this day he has them at our home in Texas. It’s so special to have bonded with my dad over our love for flowers and planting, and having spent that time with him watching our gardens grow in each house that we shared as a family.
So, not only are roses and peonies beautiful to look at, but to me they also bring a sense of happiness and peace to the corners of my apartment. This is one of the main reasons why you’ll always see fresh blooms in my home if you ever happen to stop by!
