Happy Monday friends!! I hope all of you had an amazing weekend!❤️
I realized the other day that’s it’s been a little while since I last posted on here, and I totally apologize! I was in such a transition last week because of a few changes in my work life, and that took me away from LM for a little bit. For those of you that might not know, I’ve had another side gig apart from the blog and have been working for Anthropologie for the past (almost) two years!! I started with the company whenever I was still living in New York City back in February of 2016, and jumped around between several different roles. 🙆🏻 And, on Friday of last week (8/10/18) I had my last official day with the company. It was so bittersweet to say goodbye, because Anthro has truly felt like home to me over the years. I met so many incredible people throughout my time with the company, and took part in so many wonderful projects, events, store openings, photoshoots, and collaborations with the brand. My heart was sad leaving but I knew it was time to go, and I’m so excited for all that’s in store next. ❤️ (More on that later!) But, where all good stories end there are always humble beginnings.
Let’s backtrack a little to when, and how it all began…
Date: January 2016 (a few weeks before Valentine’s Day)
Location: New York, NY🚕 (more specifically, a tiny studio apartment on the Upper East Side)
I was sitting in my dimly lit studio apartment, probably listening to jazz, and most likely snacking on a bowl of hot ramen noodles (with black pepper sprinkled on top – obvi💁🏻), when I found myself in a rut. I had just left my previous job with a tech company in midtown, and had no idea what I was going to be doing next. I was pursuing my blog at full force, but still was in desperate need of finding another job that could help sustain my crazy NYC life.💸 Cue Kelsea…
I reached out to Kelsea on a whim after I realized that she was in charge of running the Instagram account for Anthro NYC. I was currently working on gathering extra content for Valentine’s Day posts on the blog, and asked her if Anthropologie would be interested in collaborating with me for V-Day. 💕
She replied back within the same day (lightning speed for those living in NYC), and quickly said YES! I was so excited to have heard back from her, and we quickly set up a time to gather outfits for a fun Valentine’s Day post.

Kelsea and I instantly clicked when we met, and we knew we wanted to continue working together one way or another. I mentioned to her that I was currently looking for a new job, and she jumped at the chance to let me know that Anthropologie was hiring! They were in search of a new stylist for their store that was soon to open in the Financial District. (1. I had loved Anthro since High School, 2. I wanted to keep working with Kelsea, and 3. I needed to be making some more money honeyyyy so I was like UM YES. WHERE CAN I APPLY?)
…
I went through a few rounds of interviews, and eventually was hired on as a Supervisor for the Financial District store. (Their stylist position had been filled internally, but I was more than excited to take on a Supervisor role.) P.S. – this meant that I got to take the 6 train all the way down to the Brooklyn Bridge stop every morning on my way to work. Talk about a dream view every day. 😍

I worked as a Supervisor for FiDi (short for Financial District😉) for about 7 months before transferring to the Austin store, but within those 7 months I packed in SOOO much with the company. I took part in a store opening and was able to watch the Financial District Anthropologie completely come to life, traveled to Connecticut to train and learn more about the brand, worked on countless photoshoots for Anthropologie’s Main Instagram account alongside Kelsea and Morgan (see one of my favs here), assisted in preparations for a fashion show with BHLDN at their showroom in Midtown, met Abbi & Ilana when they were shooting Broad City at Rockefeller Center Anthro!! (😱 ), and not to mention made quite a few amazing friends along the way. Overall, my time with Anthro NYC was absolutely magical, to say the least. ✨

Then… I came back to TEXAS!🌵 I transferred over to the Anthropologie store in downtown Austin as a Supervisor, but once I arrived I took on a few new responsibilities. My love for all things social led me to becoming the lead content creator for Anthro Austin’s Instagram account. A role I was just over the moon about!! After a few months as a Supervisor, a position became available for the Stylist Role and I immediately went for it!! I then became the Stylist for the store, began to see a few clients, still managed the Instagram account, and added on an extra layer with event planning! The first event at the store that involved (me as a blogger!) was an influencer brunch in collaboration with Darphin, the second was a Valentine’s Day pop-up flower shop with local Austin florist: Bricolage, and the third and biggest event I helped plan was the Anthropologie Fashion Show which turned out to be one of my favorite experiences throughout my time at Anthro! We gathered so many amazing blogger babes, one of my favorite Austin photographers, a very talented hair and makeup crew, and some delicious bites for a fun night at the store with Anthropologie Austin customers.

Needless to say, my time with Anthropologie was absolutely amazing and soooo incredibly wonderful. I’m so thankful for all of the inspiring and creative opportunities that I had while working for the company, all of the wonderful friends I made that now feel like family, the many things that I learned, and the many ways in which I grew. ❤️
…
So much of who I have become is due to Anthropolgie. My work ethic, my way of interacting with others, my outlook on a life well lived… this company is unlike the rest of them, friends.
So to my Anthro Family reading this, thank you for all that you’ve taught me along the way. Thank you for your patience when I first joined the company, for your wisdom when I was eager to learn, for your kindness when I was going through life’s many stages, and for your love throughout my journey there. I will always hold my experience with Anthropologie near and dear to my heart, and it will be a brand that remains as a staple in my closet for years to come! ❤️ Thank you Anthro for allowing this small town Texas gal to get her tiny little feet wet when it came to testing out her passions, and for ultimately teaching her how to fly on her own. ✨
