I’ve always been drawn to eccentric, eclectic, and artistic spaces filled with lots of books, plants, beautiful art, rugs on rugs, and intimate lighting. I saw so many spaces to that description while I was living in New York City. Everything from dimly lit cocktail bars to beautifully decorated boutiques, and the coziest of brunch spots. (I tried to re-create that in my little studio when I was there!) My goal now is to re-create a little bit of that style in our new apartment. (And, it’s also Nathan approved so big smiles all around! 😀)
Nathan and I are currently creating a cocktail/bar station near our kitchen, and I love gathering inspiration from other carts to see what people place on theirs. I LOVE the artwork above Kat Tanita’s bar cart above. It adds such an elegant touch. By the way, ALL the photos from her West Village apartment are just so dreamy. Go take a look!
I LOVE all of the colors, and mixtures of wood in this space. It makes it look so cozy, and inviting. Like you could put on your comfiest clothes, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and curl up with a good book or movie. I want our new place to be welcoming, inviting, and completely comfortable. ♥️
Everything about THIS SPACE. Can my closet look like this please? I love the way that they created a rack for handbags as well as a little nook for a mirror, makeup, and moody lamps. I’d love to someday have an open closet concept similar to this one. (Because, what’s the use of buying pretty clothing, shoes, and handbags if they can’t be on display. 😉) I’ve already color coordinated our closets, and added a cozy rug and would LOVE to keep the doors open because it looks so cute! Fingers crossed that Nathan says yes hahaha!
Art. Art. Art. I want to fill our new apartment with all of the pretty artwork, and am already gathering pieces for a gallery wall! I can’t wait to start setting it up.
We want to add more shelving to the apartment. We’re thinking about getting a few floating shelves and adding them in the office, living room, and dining room so that we can display more of our favorite photos, books, plants, and candles.
Another thing on our list of must-haves for the apartment is a floor mirror! I would LOVE to get one to display in our living room similar to the one above.
