Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. ☀️
My weekend was filled with lots of resting, a little bit of pool time, and catching up on a few projects around the new apartment. Nathan and I did a lot of relaxing this weekend, and it was so perfect and much needed. I think our bodies are still playing catch up, and needing extra rest after everything we previously did with the move. (Moving can be sooo exhausting!) Thankfully now though, we’re all done with the heavy lifting and are just doing a little bit of organizing in the new place. All the hard work for the most part is done!😀 Now, it’s on to decorating and finding a home for all of our things!
Apart from pool lounging, cooking dinners at home, and watching Game of Thrones we also took a trip to the Container Store this weekend (one of my favorite places!), and picked up a few things for storage in the apartment. (You now you’re ‘adulting’ big time when you get excited about a weekend trip to the Container Store! 😂) I grabbed this over the door shoe bag for extra storage, and this hanging jewelry organizer to hold my many earrings! – I’m planning to do a closet organization post as soon as we finish grabbing a few more storage goodies.😉
On another note, we need to talk about this dress! – It’s such a great Summer piece! I love the high/low detailing on it, and the pretty navy blue & white polka dot print. It’s the perfect summer staple for my closet, and will also transition nicely into the fall months. (I’m planning to wear it with a cropped white cardigan, and a pair of nude heels.☺️)
I’ve always been a huge fan of polka dot anything. It’s such a classic and timeless print that will remain in style for years to come. I honestly feel as though I could continue to add polka dot printed dresses and jumpsuits to my closet for the next few years, and it will never go out of style. I actually remember buying a dress a few years back, and my mom said it looked exactly like one that she had and used to wear when she was my age! I love it when I find a classic print that I know I can always rely on as a wardrobe staple.❤️
Speaking of staples… I love it when a brand becomes one as well!
Eliza J has always been a favorite of mine for go-to dresses for any and every occasion. Their beautifully made pieces, are the perfect mix of feminine, classic, and trendy styles. I own SO MANY Eliza J dresses & jumpsuits, and have worn them here on the blog many times! You can see a few more posts in Eliza J here: this maxi dress, this floral dress, this colorful jumpsuit, & this halter/maxi dress. 💙 It’s definitely a brand that will remain in my closet for a while.
By the way, just a little shout-out to South Texas: As much as I ADORE Fall weather (it’s honestly my absolute favorite season🍂), I’m also kind of excited about the fact that Summer tends to last a little bit longer here in Austin. Which means… I can wear dresses sans sweater or jacket for longer than I would be able to in Amarillo or NYC! (Needless to say, you’ll be seeing a lot more easy dresses on here in the weeks to come!) 😊
What are some of your favorite prints to wear, or some that you continue to gravitate towards time and time again? I’d love to hear your favorites in the comment section at the bottom of today’s post! 😀
