Happy 2019 friends!✨
A New Year is all about new goals, a new vision, and new intentions. ‘Out with the old, and in with the new resolutions.’ It’s time for a fresh take on your every day projects and tasks, and a new perspective to tackle the year ahead! I always LOVE creating goals for a new year, and this year I thought I’d mix it up a little by listing out intentions that I have that are more geared towards self-love and self-improvement. That being said, I’m listing out 14 self-love intentions below that I have for myself in 2019. Some are small, some are big, but they’re all aimed towards creating a happier and healthier me. ❤️
Let me know in the comment section below, if you’re planning to do any of these for yourself this year too!! I would love to hear some of your own goals or resolutions for the new year.
EAT MORE PLANT BASED FOODS. I’ve been consciously trying to find more ways to add fruits and veggies into my diet. I like to have a banana🍌 every morning + some type of veggies🥦🥒🥑🥕 with every meal.
GET INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY, AND FIND WAYS TO GIVE BACK. Participate in food drives, promote local businesses that you love, or volunteer for a nonprofit or shelter.
CREATE A CONSISTENT WORKOUT ROUTINE. Discover what your workout goals are, find classes that you love, and stick to a consistent weekly workout routine. (I always add my classes to my planner so I won’t skip them!) I’ve also invested in some cute activewear from Shopbop and Victoria’s Secret to help make working out more fun!💪🏻
SPEND MORE TIME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Set up coffee & lunch dates, workout together, have a movie night, or plan special dinners.
PRINT MORE PHOTOS. I have so many images on my computer, and iPhone and need them to be in print. My parents have so many old photo albums, and I want to start creating my own collection too! It’s such a wonderful way to document special moments throughout the years.
TRAVEL AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. ✈️ I’m currently making a list of cities, and countries that would love to visit and aiming to visit at least one new place this year. (Whether it’s a quick drive or a flight away!)
TAKE BREAKS FROM SOCIAL MEDIA. Try taking a few hours out of the day to unplug. Limit time away from the screen with a yoga class🧘🏻♀️ in the morning, a walk through the park, or a hot bath/shower before reaching for the phone.
GET SOME FRESH AIR. Nathan and I live so close to Lady Bird Lake and the trails here in Austin, and I definitely haven’t been taking advantage of it. One of my biggest goals for this year is to spend more time outside, and soaking up all of the sunshine.
ADD MORE PLANTS TO YOUR HOME. Nathan and I already have so many plants, but that never stops me from wanting to add more to our apartment! 😂Studies have shown that house plants help lift your spirits, and also work to eliminate bad toxins from the air that your breathing.🌱 (Plus, they’re pretty cute too.)
KEEP THE APARTMENT CLEAN. A clean and organized home is a happy home!🏡❤️ Nathan and I both agree that we operate best whenever our apartment is tidy. We usually save Sundays as our day to buy groceries, clean, and prepare for the week ahead.
COMMIT TO GETTING MORE SLEEP.💤 It’s so easy to start that next episode on Netflix, keep reading through the next chapter of that mystery novel you just picked up, or continue typing away at your laptop.🤓 As someone that usually only gets 5 hours of sleep a night (yeah, so crazy I know!), I’m trying to prioritize 8 hours of sleep so I can be my best rested self every day.
DRINK MORE WATER AND JUICE. I keep lots of cranberry and pomegranate juice in the fridge, and am constantly refilling my water bottles throughout the day. (Cute ones make drinking more water easier!)
TAKE A PERSONAL DAY ONCE IN AWHILE. It’s good for us to recharge. Get a few more hours of sleep, go for a run, visit your therapist, or cook your favorite meal. Personal days are good for the soul. 💕
And, last but not least…
HAVE A GRATITUDE JOURNAL. At the end of each day, write down a few things that you’re grateful for, and look back on it throughout the week.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR INTENTIONS FOR 2019?
