Nathan and I just booked flights✈️ to sunny LA this October!
We’re heading to the Golden State for his birthday, and we couldn’t be more excited!!!☀️ P.S. – In case you didn’t know, I’m originally from Southern California (Pasadena in fact! So, I guess you could say I’m a semi-cali girl haha!). California has always sort of felt like home to me. Not to mention, we have sooo much family there too so it’s usually like a reunion every time I’ve visited! I’m really looking forward to this trip, because I haven’t been to Southern California in so long! It’s honestly been close to 10 years since my last visit.
Nate was deciding between a San Francisco and Napa combo for his b-day trip or LA and it’s many beaches + the surrounding cities. Ultimately he landed on LA! (YAY👏🏻) He visited once a long time ago, and has always wanted to go back and explore the city a little bit more. On our list of other spots to visit while we’re on the West Coast: Balboa Island, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Barabara & Montecito, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Malibu, and Pasadena. 💕

Over the weekend, I asked all of you on Instagram what your favorite things to eat, see, and visit were and you gave me such a great list! I’m so excited to add some of these spots to the itinerary for our upcoming trip.
Hiking in SB and Montecito is worth a trip! – (We definitely want to try and hike some during our trip!)
Botegga Louie in DTLA – (YASSS)
Rodeo Drive Shopping – (😍)
The shack on Laguna Beach! Right on the water & kind of a hidden gem! – (Sounds so yum!)
Malibu Farm! – (Malibu Farm has been on my list for SO LONG. Can’t wait to go there.)
In San Juan, go to Hidden House for coffee. – (I love a good ☕️spot.)
Solvang – (My mother mentioned this place too, and it looks adorable!)
Marmalade Cafe & Il Fornaio in Beverly Hills! – (Both of these look so good!)
Malibu Seafood – (I want all the oysters.😋)
Scarlett Begonia in Santa Barbara – (I want this NOW.)
Cecconi’s in WeHo & Avra in Beverly Hills are both incredible!! – (Oh my yes…We’re going to be doing all the eating this trip.😂)
For cocktails go to The Exhibition Room, The Blind Rabbit, and Good Times at Davey Wayne’s. – (We’re so excited to try some Cali cocktails!🍸)
If you guys love vintage books – like from the 1800’s – you should check out The Last Bookstore in downtown LA. There’s a labyrinth on the upper level that leads you to secret art galleries. – (This sounds so fun!!)
Ramos House Cafe in San Juan Capistrano. – (Adding this to our list IMMEDIATELY.)
Malibu Country Mart is 👌🏻 and has good shopping! – (This looks like such a fun spot!)
For Santa Barbara: Go to Mony’s Tacos in the funk zone! And Jeannine’s Bakery. Make sure you see the Mission, and The Court House for the best views. – (Looking forward to exploring SB.😀)
