This little blog of mine has been one of the biggest escapes for me over the years. It’s served as a way for me to have fun, stay creative, and always find ways to remain inspired. Not to mention… it’s been the biggest form of expression for me which in turn has led to the greatest therapeutic outlet (it’s main purpose) that I could have ever asked for. 💕
Because blogging really is like therapy. Being able to get my thoughts, feelings, and emotions out in writing has always been one of my favorite forms of therapy. There’s something so special in sharing that with others too. Feeling as though you’re not the only one going through something, or a sense of “we’re in this together” can be so powerful.
I grew up loving fashion.
I was obsessed with playing dress-up, sifting through my mother’s jewelry box, playing with her lipstick💄, and admiring all of her gorgeous shoes. (Currently working on my own collection! Carrie Bradshaw would be soooo very proud.✨)
I’ve carried my love for style with me throughout the years, and have always loved using fashion as a form of expressing myself. In other words – “I found a love for shopping at a very early age!”😂 I’ve always loved choosing pieces that speak to me, and make me feel special and beautiful anytime that I wear them. Whether it’s a simple summer dress, or a new pair of heels – the second I put it on, I instantly feel like a million bucks. And that’s what our own personal style SHOULD DO – make us feel amazing, and like our very best selves.❤️
I always knew I wanted to find a way to mesh my love for personal style with writing. I wanted to find ways in which I could take that into new and exciting territory. CUE my other childhood love: reading and writing.
I’m definitely a bookworm. My love for literature was instilled in me very early on. My mom LOVES to read, and would always take my brother and I to the library to pick out our next book.📚 To this day, we both still love reading, and if I ever get lost at the library you can find me in one of two places: The section filled with copies of old Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Marie Claire Magazine or among the classics: Jane Eyre, Count of Monte Cristo, and Wuthering Heights.
Sometimes I feel as though it was just in my blood to love writing and find comfort in a great novel. I come from a family filled with journalists, writers, and editors. My grandfather, my father’s dad, owned the biggest newspaper in Guatemala City and was a well known journalist. My cousins are writers, my brother is a writer, and my love for the written word led me to seek a minor in journalism once I got to college.
I definitely wanted to keep my love for writing and fashion with me, no matter what career path I chose, and when I found out about blogs and what blogging was I was instantly hooked! Finally a way to share my love for fashion and writing all in one!!Since 2011, I’ve been combining both of those loves within this small little corner of the internet, and it’s led to countless and incredible opportunities. One being a feature in Vanity Fair Magazine💫 in August of 2017. (My biggest blogging accomplishment thus far.)
This little blog of mine has taken me on countless adventures that I never could have dreamed of.
I’ve gained so many amazing friendships along the way, have worked with some of my favorite (dream) brands including: DVF, Estēe Lauder, Vogue, & Anthropologie to name a few, and also spent time living and gathering additional style inspiration in my absolute favorite city – New York City.🍎
So… this is a big THANK YOU to all of you that have been following along since the very beginning, or near the beginning, or in the middle, or only recently.😉 Thank you for going on this fun and exciting journey with me. Thank you for sticking around during the quiet times, for being a support system for me during the hard times, for celebrating alongside me during the happy times, and for constantly supporting my dreams and cheering me on through every season. I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for all of you, and am so excited to continue to share where LM takes me next.
Love, Adriana xoxo
