Sharing our stay at The Stagecoach Inn Below!
Last month, Nathan and I took a little drive to Salado to have a mini weekend getaway at The Stagecoach Inn. We were itching for a little escape after a busy past few months, and this adorable boutique hotel served as the perfect relaxation spot for us. We set off early from South Austin a few Saturdays ago to make it to Salado just in time for brunch! I’m not sure about you, but Nate and I LOVE to schedule things around our meals (we’re both big foodies!!).
The drive to Salado was quick and easy. After checking in and dropping off our things in our room, we met up with my sweet photographer Madeline and her husband who had just arrived. (They also got to enjoy a fun stay at the hotel that weekend!) Once we snapped a few quick photos, we promptly made our way downstairs to the restaurant for brunch.
WHERE IT’S LOCATED:
The Stagecoach Inn is located an hour outside of Austin in the town of Salado, Tx and lies between Austin and Waco. It’s like a mini oasis right off of the highway and serves as the perfect spot for a little weekend getaway. It’s a great destination just to get outside of the city for a little while too, and a great stopping point if you’re ever on your way to Waco! Once you drive into Salado, you’ll make your way down the treelined streets and quickly come across the town’s main street. Nestled alongside Salado’s main street is the adorable Stagecoach Inn. The Inn features 48 beautifully restored and renovated rooms that have a simple yet trendy vibe to them. And the property is gorgeous too. It’s sprawling with beautiful and lush greenery and plants that are native to the Texas area. Scroll through to see more!
WHERE TO EAT:
When it comes to delicious food, the Inn is serving up some amazing options! During our stay, Nathan and I decided to make the most of their amazing hotel restaurant and bar by dining not once, but twice when we arrived on Saturday. First for brunch when we drove in, and then for dinner later that night. Their menu is SO GOOD and has everything from hushpuppies with whipped honey butter and a cast-iron pimento cheese dip to chicken fried steak, delicious mac & cheese, and beer can chicken, to name a few! You’ll definitely want to dine at the Stagecoach Inn’s restaurant when in Salado.

WHAT TO DO:
Salado’s main street is filled with everything from quaint restaurants and cafes to vintage shops, and inspiring art galleries. It’s the best destination for a quiet weekend away to clear your mind, gain fresh new inspiration, and catch some quality downtime. Nathan and I ended up spending the majority of our time lounging by the pool while listening to some poolside tunes and also ordering a drink (or two!) from their pool bar. We also spent a lot of time at the hotel restaurant, because FOOD. We just couldn’t say no to all of the delicious bites. Click here to see more things to do in Salado!
STAGECOACH HISTORY:
For those of you that might not know, Salado and the Stagecoach Inn both have a long-standing history. The Inn was once a stop on the Chisholm trail and pays homage to its Texas roots. It’s even believed that the Inn is the oldest remaining structure in Salado and that it provided food and rest for everyone from Sam Houston and Robert E. Lee to General George Custer and Jesse James! After it’s year-long renovation it’s now a bustling hotspot for weekend getaways, dinner parties, and weddings. IF YOU HAVEN’T EXPLORED SALADO YET, I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO. AND MAKE SURE YOU BOOK A STAY WITH THE STAGECOACH INN WHILE YOU’RE THERE!
