WEARING: Rhode Haper Dress | BaubleBar Sahari Raffia Drop Earrings
Lately, I’ve been fulling living for my weekends. The past few weeks have been completely packed with work deadlines, trips, and deliverables, along with photoshoots for the blog, meetings, events and now planning for our big move in January! While I’m still doing a little work every now and then on the weekends, I always try to make sure that I’m also carving out some ‘me time’ so that I can feel rested and rejuvenated for everything that’s ahead. (And, so that I can stay SANE.) As much as I love going out for dinner and drinks, spending the afternoon shopping, or getting lost around Austin, I also really love spending quality time at home and have recently realized that I’m slowly becoming more and more of a homebody.
Today, I’m sharing 7 different ways that I love to Wine’d Down🍷(hehe, see what I did there?) during the evenings. From diving into a good book to watching the latest new release on Netflix, or coming home to a recent Winc delivery. 🙌🏻Here are a few tried and true ways that I truly feel are best for me when I’m needing to hit the reset button and unwind.
Reading a Good Book
I love taking an hour or two to catch up on my latest read or open up a new book that I’ve been planning to start for a while. (P.S. – I’ll be sharing my recent reading list with you so soon!!📚) Reading is such a great way to transport yourself somewhere else for a little while, and let your mind go to new places. It’s one of my favorite ways to relax during evenings at home.
Watching a New Show on Netflix
Nate and I LOVE a good Netflix night. We’ll typically make dinner together on Fridays, open up a new bottle of wine, and then sit down on the couch to catch up on the latest Netflix show or new movie release. It’s one of our favorite ways to unwind after a busy week, and the best way to shut our minds off and kickback.
Taking an Epsom Salt Bath
I’ve been doing this one almost every night! If I’m ever feeling overwhelmed or a little stressed, I’ve found that lighting a favorite candle and drawing a hot bath with Epsom salts or my favorite soak is the best way to just relax. I’ve recently been alternating between two different soaks: Dr. Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt in Lavendar + Bath Foam and Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt in Eucalyptus & Spearmint + Bath Foam.
Opening My New Winc Delivery!
I can’t talk about winding down without bringing Winc into the mix!! I always get so excited when our monthly Winc delivery arrives at our doorstep. Nathan and I have been gravitating towards bold reds and dry whites recently, and our latest shipment was just 👌🏻so good. You can see more of their selection here: Winc Wines (Keep scrolling for a special discount code!!)
Prepping a Meal at Home
Another thing that we love doing together at home, is cooking! I absolutely love that Nathan loves to cook as much as I do, and we’re always having so much fun experimenting in the kitchen together. Cooking really is so therapeutic and the best way to feel as though your creating something delicious and special that you can share with each other.
Joining in on a Weekly Exercise Class
I always try to make space in my daily and weekly routine for a great exercise class at our local gym. If I’m feeling like my body needs a little extra love I’ll sign up for yoga, and if I want to get an intense workout in after a weekend full of all the food then I’ll join in on a great cycling class!🚴🏻♀️
Spending Time With Loved Ones
If your workload is heavy, you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, or you just want someone to talk to – look to loved ones. They’re always there to lend an ear and constant support. Both of our parents are in Amarillo, but we each make time throughout the week to call them and catch them up on our day. My brother, aunt, uncle, and cousins live here in Austin and we try to see them on the weekends whenever we can too! Whether it’s for dinner, a movie, or a quick lunch. It’s always great to have a little time with your loved ones throughout the week to feel renewed.❤️
