Nathan and I moved to our new apartment in Sunset Valley back in August, and since then we’ve been loving every second of being in our new space. We did make a few furniture updates before we moved, and purchased a new couch along with a new coffee table, lounge chair, and rug for the living room. (I’m linking everything that we currently have in our home both above and throughout this post for you to shop!)
Even though Nathan and I won’t be at our new apartment much longer since we’re planning our BIG MOVE to NYC soon, I still thought it would be fun to share a glimpse inside our new space with you here in South Austin. For those of you that don’t already know, we previously lived over on South Congress. (It was so much fun!!) As much as we enjoyed being so close to downtown and within walking distance to so many of our favorite stores and restaurants, it was a little congested at times and usually felt very busy on the weekends.
Why We Chose Sunset Valley:
We wanted to still live close enough to downtown to where it wouldn’t be more than a 15-minute drive, but also far enough away that we could feel as though we were escaping the city every now and then. (Because sometimes you just want to get away from the hustle & bustle for a little while.) Says someone who’s about to move to New York City.🤣
Life in Sunset Valley has been amazing for us. We’re within a 2-minute drive to Target (insert this emjoi 🙌🏻here) and very close to Whole Foods and my personal favorite, Central Market for groceries. We’re also much closer to my Aunt & Uncle’s house, within a 5-minute drive to my cousin’s house, and seconds from the highway that take us up north to my brother’s apartment.

We’ll definitely miss the sweet home that we’ve both made together in Sunset Valley. This little apartment will be our last stop in Austin before we head east to New York and that makes me feel so sentimental. I honestly can’t believe how much has changed in just the past two years, but I’m so excited for everything that lies ahead. ✨
