A new year brings new readers, and  I thought it would be fun to share a little bit more about myself with all of you. And for those of you that have been following along for a while, I hope to surprise you with a few of the below facts. Some of my closest friends don’t even know these! 

15 Things About Adriana:

1.  Hollywood here I come!! I wanted to be an actress when I was little, and would always watch old movies with my dad. – Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, and Ava Gardner were my favorites. 
2.  I was on the dance team in college. – I took a ballet class during college, and my friend Nikki who was in the class with me begged me to join the dance team. A few twists of my arm later, and I was dancing at football games, and pep rallies. It was such a fun time! 
3.  I can’t eat apples. – You know the whole ‘nails on a chalkboard’ thing… that’s what apples do to my teeth. The sound of someone eating them, or someone cutting them hurts my teeth so much! I can’t even be in the same room when it’s happening! 
4.  If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be Paris. – I first visited Paris when I graduated from High School and knew that I would fall in love. The scenery, the fashion, the food…some day. 
5.  I’ve been stung by a jellyfish. – While on vacation in California, a huge wave rolled up to shore and brought along with it a nasty little jellyfish that got me right on the leg. One of the most painful experiences ever…
6. I played the violin in middle school. – I joined the Amarillo Symphony when I was younger, and my parents were crushed when I decided to stop playing once I got to High School. 
7. I’m bilingual. (I speak both English & Spanish!) 
8. If I wear 4 inch heels, I’m at a nice 5’4. I’m only 5 feet tall! 
9. My favorite book is Jane Eyre, and I grew up on classic literature. Other favorites – (The Count of Monte Cristo, Wuthering Heights, Pride & Prejudice)
10. I’m addicted to chai tea lattes and peachie o’s. 

11. My first major in college was broadcasting. – I soon found out that I was too camera shy to work at a news station and switched over to International Business with a minor in Journalism.

12. I’m Guatemalan, Spanish, and Italian, but since moving to NYC have been mistaken for being Filipino several times! 

13. I love to travel and have visited 6 countries so far: {Guatemala, Italy, France, England, Poland, & Iceland} – having lived in both England and Iceland! I want to see them all…

14. I’ve played basketball since I was 3 years old. I grew up playing every single sport from basketball and volleyball to track and tennis. Basketball was my favorite and I played on the girl’s varsity team throughout High School. 

15. I was born in Pasadena, California and still like to consider myself a Cali Girl (even though I grew up in Texas!). I will always be a Lakers and Dodgers fan, and have a soft spot in my heart for palm trees, sandy toes, sunshine, and the beach.
