Is there anything better than a fresh cocktail on the patio when the weather is warm? I don’t think so! Today’s post is all about a deliciously refreshing (and super easy to make!) cocktail that Nathan and I had on the patio over the weekend.
Nathan is definitely the cocktail master in our relationship, so hopefully he won’t mind adding these to his to-do list. I’m not the best when it comes to the mixology department, but I’m always available for taste-testing and letting him know that the drinks look cute!
Anyway, without further ado, I present to you the, the ‘Buzzed Ginger Lemonade’ cocktail that Nathan whipped up for us. You’re going to LOVE it!! (And you HAVE to let me know if you try it!) Nathan and I are going to be bringing a lot more fun, and easy cocktails to the blog for you!
The recipe below makes one cocktail, so double for two.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 3-5 mint leaves (in shaker & for garnish)
- one lemon
- crystallized ginger
- cocktail picks (we found ours at Central Market!)
- 2 oz (2 shots) vodka (Tito’s is our favorite!)
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/4 oz ginger juice or fresh ginger (we love this one)
- 1 oz honey syrup (1 part honey, 1 part water)
- ice
METHOD:
- Place equal parts honey & water in a small saucepan. Boil then turn to a simmer and stir until honey is completely dissolved. Let cool.
- Add ingredients to mixing glass or cocktail shaker. (A few mint leaves, vodka, lemon juice, ginger juice, & honey syrup)
- Slightly muddle the mint leaves
- Add 1/2 cup ice to the contents in your shaker
- Shake, Shake, Shake!
- Fill your drinking glass to the rim with crushed ice, and strain contents of cocktail shaker into the glass
- Garnish with a lemon wheel, mint leaves, and crystallized ginger
ENJOY!
