HAPPY MONDAY FRIENDS!
I hope everyone had a fun and restful weekend. It was sunny in Austin all weekend, and it made me one very happy girl. ☀️
Nathan and I did so much this weekend too! I’m always surprised at how many fun things we’re able to fit into our weekends.
On Friday after he got out of work, we met up to drive over to my Aunt & Uncle’s house to have pizza + wine & a movie night with them!🎥🍕 (My brother joined us too!) I loved getting together with them and spending the evening at their beautiful home. We ate pizza, drank wine, watched a hilarious movie (Bernie– based on a true story), and chatted the night away. There’s just nothing like time spent with family. ❤️
Saturday was equally fun! Nathan and I both slept in, then had some tacos and ventured out to run a few errands around town, snapped some photos for the blog, and grabbed sushi for dinner followed by a movie at Alamo Drafthouse. (Jurassic World!) Our Sunday was great too. We went to church, grabbed brunch, picked up a few groceries for the week, and then watched a favorite show. All in all, it was the perfect weekend.
What did you do this weekend?
Today, I’m talking about one of my favorite prints for Summer. (Red & White Gingham)
Every time I see gingham print anything, I immediately thing of Summer. It’s the quintessential summertime print, and the perfect print to add to your closet for the season!
I picked up this skirt a few weekends back (sold out – linking a similar style here) at Nordstrom and am obsessed with it. I actually took it home to Amarillo a few weekends ago, and my mom loved it so much that she stayed with mine and I bought a new one when I got home to Austin! 😜
Red & White Gingham also screams 4th of July to me. 🎆
I’m currently planning out my outfit for the fourth, and I recently purchased this navy polka dot dress from Nordstrom. (I want to pair it with some fun red sunnies or a red neck scarf!❤️) Now though, I’m thinking I might want to wear another red gingham look. (Would it be bad to have two outfits for the fourth?!) One for day activities, and then one for nighttime activities?😂 HAHA!
This fun print is everywhere at the moment, and I’m linking some of my favorites for you to shop over on the home page of this post and below! A lot of these pieces are on my list, and they would all be great for summertime festivities. Especially for the 4th of JULY!! 🍉🎇
More red & white gingham:
Loving: This dress, these pants, this top, and these sandals.
What are some of your favorite prints to wear during the Summer?
And if you love gingham as much as I do, do you typically gravitate towards a specific color like pink gingham, black gingham, or blue gingham pieces? My go-to has always been red!
I’m hoping to add a few more red & white gingham pieces to my closet this summer, as well as more red in general! Red is one of my favorite colors to wear, and I recently realized that I don’t have much of it in my closet. A friend of mine actually told me the other day that red is my power color. 😂 (So… I guess I really do need more of it in my closet!)
Also…can we please talk about how it’s almost JULY!! Where did this month go?!
Anyway friends, I’m off to run a few errands and start getting ready for tonight!
My friend Jessica is in town for a few days, and I’m sooo excited! Jessica is one of my very best friends, and she’s visiting Austin from NYC! We used to live on the same exact street, only a few blocks away from each other. ☺️ We’d always walk over to each others apartments for wine or dinner, or we’d meet each other halfway to ride the subway together for evenings out with friends around the city.
I have such fond memories of my time in the city because of Jess, and I’m sooo excited that she’ll be in Austin for a few days. I can’t wait to show her around, and give her a little glimpse of my new life here in Austin, Texas. You can follow along on our adventures while she’s here over on Instagram.
Leaving you with a few more photos of this look below, and hoping you have a great Monday!
Wishing you a great rest of the day!

LOVE this look! Such a fun skirt, and although it’s long, it doesn’t overpower your petite frame. Perfect for a summer weekend!
