HAPPY THURSDAY FRIENDS!
A lot has been happening over here lately, and I thought it’d be fun to fill you in! In case you’ve been following along on Instagram… you might have seen that last week, and this week have been filled with lots of fun family time, exploring around Austin, and welcoming new friends to the city!
Austin Summer is in full swing over here, and below is a little bit of what’s been going on in our little world via photos from my iPhone. Hope you enjoy! ❤️
Patika Coffee
Nathan and I discovered this cute coffee shop after church last Sunday, and loved it!! The coffee is super yum ☕️, and they serve brunch every Saturday & Sunday! We stopped in for a quick latte, but were eyeing everyone’s food because it looked delicious. We’re definitely planning to stop by again sometime for Sunday brunch! 🍹🍳
Zocalo Cafe
Speaking of brunch… One our favorite places to head to brunch on the weekends is Zocalo Cafe. My Aunt first introduced me to it when I visited a few years back, and it’s been a favorite ever since! It’s located in a cute area of Austin on West Lynn Street, and tucked in between other equally adorable cafés and shops. (I always order the Huevos Rancheros & Nathan get’s the Chilaquiles. Both are SO GOOD.)
Welcome to Austin, Jessica!
My friend Jessica flew into Austin last week from New York City for a wedding, and decided to extend her stay to play tourist around the city with us! This was Jessica’s second time to Austin, but her first time getting to experience the city firsthand. My heart has been so happy these past few days to have a little piece of NYC here in Texas with me. 💕
It’s so nice being able to spend time with a close friend. Jessica was one of the first friends that I made in New York when I moved there two years ago, and we actually lived on the exact same street, only a few blocks away from each other! (How crazy is that!!) We used to always get together at each other’s apartment for wine & dinner, and would meet one another halfway to walk to the subway together to hop on and meet our friends for nights out around the city. I have such fond memories of NYC because of Jessica, and am so grateful that we became such good friends. It’s been so fun to be able to show her around this time, and give her a small glimpse into my new little life here! 😀
TOPGOLF
The first night with Jessica, Nathan and I grabbed dinner with her and her boyfriend Luis at a really great Mexican spot called Curra’s Grill (they’re known for their avocado margaritas and you MUST try them!), and then we headed up North for TOPGOLF. It was soooo much fun! Nathan had gone before with one of his friends, and insisted that we try it out. (I’m so glad that we did!) I’ve always seen TOPGOLF on movies, and being able to finally play was such a fun experience. It’s also a great idea for when friends visit if you’re looking for something fun to do! Jessica and Luis both loved it. ⛳️
All in all, I feel as though Nathan and I were able to show Jessica so much more of the city this time around. From eating all the Mexican food possible, to introducing her to Texas beers, showing her more of downtown and Zilker Park, and letting her see what life in Austin is all about. We can’t wait for her and Luis to visit us again soon! The next time we’ll see them is when we take a trip to NYC in a few months, and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am. I CAN’T WAIT to be in the city again. 🗽
