I’m sooo excited to finally show you a few photos of our new apartment. These photos were taken on my phone when Nathan and I took a little tour of the place right before sunset one evening. We had actually just picked up Shake Shack🍔,and I took it inside the apartment with me to finish eating. SO, I guess that was my first ever meal in the new place! 😂 (At least I made sure to order the cheese fries!!)
I CAN’T WAIT to move into our new apartment next week!! 😀 Nathan and I are both over the moon, and are looking forward to just being in the same place together. We both currently live on the East Side of Austin, and are moving to South Congress area. (One of our favorite spots in the city!) It’s within walking distance of some favorite shops on South Congress and restaurants. (Like: Café No Sé, Jo’s Coffee, Madewell, Amy’s Ice Cream, Güero’s, and Creature’s Boutique to name a few.) We really wanted to be near downtown so that we could be closer to Nathan’s office and to all of our favorite places. It’s also going to be great to be so centrally located in Austin for the times that we have friends and family come and stay.
One of my FAVORITE things about this apartment are the massive windows in the living and dinning room! I love love love natural light, and am so excited that we’ll be getting so much of it in the new place. It’s really going to open up the space. I’m also thrilled about the fireplace!! I know living in Austin we probably won’t be using it a whole lot, but it’s such a beautiful extra touch to the space. We’re planning to order this mirror for above the fireplace this week, and want to fill the mantel with some of our favorite plants.🌱
The view from one of the windows in our living room!
We’re on the top floor of our building and the views are absolutely stunning. I’ve always wanted to live in a spot with beautiful views of downtown.
I love that when you walk into our new place it leads straight into a long hallway. The hallway branches off to the office on your left (a space to blog from!👏🏻), then you walk a little ways and the bedroom is on your right, our laundry room🙌🏻 is on the left where you see the doors above (yes, we have a laundry room!!), and then you continue down the hall and it opens up onto the kitchen, living room, and dining room.
By the way, I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am about having a laundry room. I haven’t had a laundry room since I lived at home!! Because…you’re lucky if you have one in New York City and my first place in Austin didn’t have one either. AT HOME LAUNDRY IS GOLD. ✨
I’m soooo excited that the bathtub has this little nook!! (It’s the little things in your late twenties hahaha.😜) I can’t wait to place some of my favorite bath salts, bubble bath, and other goodies on here. SIDE NOTE: I’m not super thrilled about the green tile at the top, but at least we can cover that part with a pretty shower curtain! I’ve got my eyes on a few from Anthropologie.
Our view of downtown from the balcony!
